Dubai Duty Free is the airport retailer that runs the duty free shops at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport. For Dubai Duty Free careers, the official place to apply is the company’s own jobs portal, careers.dubaidutyfree.com. Applying is free. If anyone asks you for money to get a Dubai Duty Free job, it is not Dubai Duty Free.
What is Dubai Duty Free?
Most people know it from the shops they walk past after passport control. Here is what official and news sources say:
- It opened for business on 20 December 1983, in the basement of the old terminal at Dubai International (Khaleej Times).
- It operates at Dubai International Airport, including Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, and at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
- Its chairman is H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and its Managing Director is Ramesh Cidambi.
- The Dubai Government Media Office reported sales of Dhs8.68 billion for 2025, the best year in its history.
Big sales mean big shop teams working around the clock. That is why its name comes up so often when people search for airport jobs in Dubai.
Where do I apply for Dubai Duty Free careers?
Apply only on the official portal. Do not use a link someone sent you on WhatsApp. The steps:
- Open careers.dubaidutyfree.com. The footer links back to dubaidutyfree.com, the company’s main website.
- Look at the open jobs, or use the keyword search and the “Job Family” filter.
- If you don’t see a job that fits, open DDF Careers Registration. This is a general registration so the company has your profile.
- Click Apply and create an account. You fill in personal details, questions, career history, qualifications and attachments.
- Upload your CV and a passport-size photo. These two are required.
- Already registered? Use Existing Applicant Login to update your profile instead of making a new one.
The careers portal does not show a recruitment email address. We did not find an official HR email for sending CVs, so use the portal.
What jobs does Dubai Duty Free often hire for?
The careers portal sorts jobs into these job families:
- Retail and Retail Inventory (shop floor and stock teams)
- Cash Office and Exchange Bureau
- Logistics and Purchasing
- Merchandising and Display
- Loss Prevention and Corporate Security
- Facilities and Projects
- Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Support Systems and IT
- Corporate Responsibility and The Irish Village
Job types include Permanent, Internship, UAE National and Irish Village. Some jobs are only for UAE Nationals. For example, an Exchange Bureau Teller job open in October 2026 was marked “UAE Nationals”. Read the title before you apply.
The open list is often short. When we checked in October 2026, it showed only two openings, and the “Future Jobs” page said no vacancies were found. Vacancies change, so check again from time to time.
What does Dubai Duty Free expect if you are selected?
The registration page lists these terms:
- Shift work, including night shifts. The shops run 24 hours.
- Working in different places within the airport operations.
- Wearing the company uniform and following grooming standards.
- Submitting your attested birth certificate and school certificate.
Start attestation of these certificates early if you are in India. It can take time.
Does Dubai Duty Free hold walk-in interviews?
Many people search “Dubai Duty Free walk in interview”. We checked the official careers portal and found no walk-in announcement. We also could not find a recent walk-in reported by Gulf News, Khaleej Times or The National. The company’s process, as shown on its site, is online registration.
If you see a walk-in notice with the Dubai Duty Free name, look for the same job on careers.dubaidutyfree.com first. For walk-ins we have checked from other UAE companies, see our walk-in interview jobs page.
How much salary does Dubai Duty Free pay?
The company does not publish salaries on its careers portal. Pay depends on the role, your experience and the department. Ignore numbers from videos and blogs.
The figure that counts is the one in your offer letter and your MOHRE contract. Check the basic salary, allowances, hours and contract type before you sign. Our guide on how to read a UAE job offer letter explains each part.
How do I avoid fake Dubai Duty Free job offers?
A famous airport name attracts scammers. Watch for these signs:
- Someone asks for money for a visa, medical, ticket, training or “file charge”.
- The offer comes from Gmail, Yahoo or another free email address.
- You get a job offer without an interview or an online application.
- The website is not dubaidutyfree.com or careers.dubaidutyfree.com.
Never pay to get a job. Read our guide on how to spot fake job offers in the UAE, and tell us if you see a fake advert using a company name.
