A normal day starts with checking delivery plans, vehicles and available drivers before products leave the distribution centre. You’ll help organise routes and resources so deliveries reach customers, GMG outlets and business accounts on time.
During the shift, you may track deliveries through logistics systems, deal with driver or vehicle issues, and coordinate with warehouse, sales, customer service and accounts teams when problems need attention.
A Typical Day in GMG Delivery Operations
You’ll supervise last-mile delivery activity from planning through completion. This includes checking delivery progress, supporting drivers and helpers, keeping vehicles ready, and responding to breakdowns, incidents or customer-related escalations.
The Main Delivery Tasks
- Supervise daily deliveries and check that orders arrive accurately and on time.
- Schedule drivers and delivery helpers while monitoring attendance, performance and policy compliance.
- Plan routes and allocate vehicles and other resources for efficient delivery operations.
- Check fleet use, vehicle maintenance, documents and operational readiness.
- Investigate delivery incidents, accidents, breakdowns and driver-reported issues.
- Monitor delivery KPIs and prepare reports using logistics management systems and Microsoft Office.
