You will work with signalpersons, riggers and supervisors while following lifting plans, load limits and safety procedures.
The lifting and safety work involved
- Operate mobile cranes to lift, move and position heavy objects, equipment and materials.
- Inspect the crane and complete maintenance checks before operation.
- Set up outriggers, cribbing and rigging at job sites to keep the crane stable.
- Read lifting plans and follow signals from signalpersons or riggers.
- Check load weights and crane capacities, adjusting the operation when needed.
- Record crane use, inspections and maintenance, and report issues to supervisors.
