You should be comfortable using hand and power tools, reading simple drawings and following QHSE and HSE procedures on site.
Carpentry tasks in GMG retail stores
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood, plywood and other materials for frameworks, furniture and structures.
- Install doors, windows, floors and cabinets accurately.
- Read blueprints, technical drawings and construction plans to follow project specifications.
- Repair and maintain wooden structures, checking their stability and safety.
- Use hammers, saws, drills, sanders and other carpentry equipment safely.
- Keep the work area organised, manage waste materials and report hazards, observations or incidents to the line manager.
